Traffolyte Labels – Customising Guide

Koalabel — supplying bollard labels, solar label kits and battery stickers across Australia and New Zealand for over 15 years — makes creating custom traffolyte labels easy and hassle free. Every job is unique, so our process ensures you get labels exactly the way you want them.

How can I customise Traffolyte?

We break the process into three simple steps so you can specify size, look and any extras quickly.

Step 1 – Size, Shape & Quantities

  • Size – We’re flexible. The maximum sheet size we can handle is approximately 600mm x 400mm. If you’re unsure of the final label dimensions, tell us the intended height of your text and we’ll work out an appropriate label size.
  • Shape – Tell us what the label needs to look like and where it must fit. We can laser-cut any shape and include cut-outs for switches, dials and mounting points.
  • Quantities – We can produce single bespoke plates or larger runs — let us know how many and whether you need multiple variations of the design.

Step 2 – Design & Colours

Now we work with you to define the appearance.

  • Design variations – Tell us what to include: text, logos or both. Also let us know if you require several design variants (for example, labels with different text) or just a single design in multiple copies.
  • Colours – Traffolyte is a layered material, so the top and core colours are what create the engraved contrast. We offer a wide range of common combinations — if you have specific colour requirements, let us know and we’ll advise on the best pairing for legibility and durability.

Step 3 – Extras

  • Adhesive backing – We can add an adhesive sheet to the back of your labels for easy fixing if required.
  • Mounting holes, rivet slots or additional machining – Specify any mechanical fixing requirements so labels arrive ready to install.
  • Finishing – Edge finishes, chamfers and other details are available on request.

Start customising — tell us the size, the artwork (or text) and any extras and we’ll prepare a proof for approval.

What is Traffolyte?

Traffolyte (also called Traffolite) is a phenolic plastic built in multiple layers designed specifically for engraving. Typical construction uses a coloured top layer over a contrasting core. When the top layer is engraved away, the underlying colour shows through to create high-contrast, durable markings.

What is Traffolyte used for?

Traffolyte is commonly used for identification and functional signage in industrial and electrical environments due to its durability and insulating properties. Typical applications include:

  • Identification labels and nameplates
  • Switchboard and panel labels
  • Equipment plates and machine labels
  • Durable signage where engraved, long-life markings are required
