Risen Energy Australia’s Vice General Manager, John Zhong, recently met with State Member for Condamine, Pat Weir MP, at the Yarranlea Solar Farm for a tour of the facility, which is located near Toowoomba in South East Queensland.
Mr Weir, who took on the portfolio of Shadow Minister for Natural Resources, Mines and Energy in late 2020, said he had been keen to learn more about the solar energy sector in Queensland. After meeting in Parliament House earlier this year, Mr Zhong extended the invitation of a personal tour of the solar farm to Mr Weir.
On the day of the visit, Mr Zhong and Mr Weir discussed the complexities of building, operating and commissioning solar farms in the sunshine state as well as demonstrating the functionalities of the hardware on site. Operations and Maintenance Manager, Stephen Brass, and Yarranlea Site Operations Lead, Steve Baker, were also on hand to answer technical questions.
Risen said it is confident Mr Weir gained valuable knowledge of Yarranlea Solar Farm and of the energy industry in general.
