Western Australian gas retailer Kleenheat has launched a home solar and storage “one-stop shop” it hopes will help consumers to choose the right panels and batteries to meet their energy needs “in minutes.”

Kleenheat, a gas supplier under the umbrella of Wesfarmers and the first company to distribute LPG in Western Australia, announced last week the launch of its new online tool, Kleenheat Spark.

Kleenheat Spark combines instant recommendations on more than 250 product combinations with fixed-price installer quoting to help WA households make the switch to solar and battery systems.

Once customers have reviewed their tailored recommendations they are able to request a fixed-price quote for their preferred package before then deciding whether they want to proceed with the installation.

“We know how complex and stressful the solar and battery journey can be for a household,” said Rick Newnham, head of Kleenheat.

“What can take many weeks researching providers, understanding government rebates, calculating panel and storage options, can now be done in minutes with Kleenheat.

“Leveraging our decades of experience in the WA residential energy sector, we have handpicked quality products and installers to help West Australians reduce their electricity bills with confidence. We’re aiming to make solar and batteries as simple as booking a restaurant online.”

Kleenheat says a Perth household with annual electricity costs of around $3,000 (averaging out at $500 every two months) could save around $2,700 a year by installing a solar and battery system recommended by Kleenheat Spark at a cost of $8,227.

The savings paying off that system would take around three years – depending on the time-of-day of their consumption, income generated from selling excess energy into the grid, and other variables – while earning the consumer up to 8,227 Flybuys points and slashing their electricity bills to around $50 every two months.

Newnham says Kleenheat has worked with installers to “lock in great prices which are provided upfront” as well as showing the government rebates that can be applied, estimated potential savings, and the investment’s payback time.

He says the company has been careful to ensure the recommended packages include only high-quality solar and battery products from reputable brands.

“Everything a household needs to decide on solar and battery, we have done for them,” Newnham says.
